Pas mal d’entre vous tente l’aventure tout comme nous, c’est vraiment top d’avoir vos retours sur l’organisation ! Mais vous êtes plusieurs à me demander :
« Comment faire pour la scolarité des enfants ? »
Voici la TO DO LIST Ecole hiii haaaa
De mon côté j’ai 2 enfant Cloé qui a 13 ans donc en 4ème au collège, et Sasha qui a 8 ans donc en CE2.
1/ Contacter les écoles proches de l’appartement de Brooklyn pour les inscriptions
Là les parents coordonnateurs ont été supers sympas et m’ont tout précisé. C’était assez simple.
Bon j’ai abandonné l’idée après avoir lu plusieurs articles qui indiquait que le fait de profiter du système scolaire pendant notre Visa Esta (donc tourisme) pouvait nous bloquer les portes lors de la demande du Visa Investisseur (E2).
Ma fois, ça me paraît logique aussi, je viens en touriste je n’ai pas à profiter du système publique,
2/ Donc contacter le CNED. Leur site est top, et facile. Je me suis inscrite et ils m’ont appelé de suite pour comprendre ma démarche, et au vue de la durée (3 mois). Le souci dans mon cas, c’est qu’une inscription des enfants au CNED conduits à les désinscrire dans leur école actuelle, donc de ne pas forcément retrouver une place au retour, et des frais (450€ par enfants).
Ils m’ont expliqué que souvent les parents s’arrangent avec les professeurs pour avoir les cours, et le faire eux-mêmes.
3/ Contacter les écoles,
Pour Sasha le directeur d’établissement est son maître : facile, il était tout de suite d’accord sur la démarche, et allait se renseigner sur la procédure.
Pour le proviseur de Cloé j’ai dû « négocier » (lol), mais je lui ai démontré que c’était la façon la plus simple pour elle. Il a accepté … ouf !
4/ Trouver la procédure, alors je ne sais pas vous, mais moi j’ai des copines prof ou directrice d’établissement, et franchement elles ont été d’une super énorme grande aide, voici le chemin à suivre :
• Contacter l’inspection académique
• Leur faire un courrier, et faire un courrier en parallèle à la mairie
• Retour de l’accord sous 1 semaine (hyper rapide)
• Donner copie de l’accord aux directeurs d’établissement
5/ Faire leurs plannings, et le faire valider par les directeurs
De mon côté j’ai choisi de faire cours le matin, nous nous lèverons à la même heure (7h00) et ferons 4h / jours (3h le vendredi), ce planning me permettra de rester dans leurs habitudes, et puis si pendant un jour ou deux nous ne pouvons faire les cours, nous saurons exactement lesquels rattraper (surtout pour ma filles au collège).

Personnellement Cloé a dû mal en maths et français j’ai préféré mettre ces matières en matinée.
Sasha aura moins de cours, les cours ne seront pas sur une heure mais 3/4h d’heure max.
6/ Prendre les codes PRO NOTE (collège) et KARTABLE (appli mobile)
PRO NOTE est le récapitulatif des professeurs de collèges des cours, et des exercices de la veille, les profs de Cloé ont tous mon e-mail donc ce sera je pense un complément.
KARTABLE alors ça je ne connais pas du tout, mais il paraît que c’est génial ce sont des profs qui aide à mieux comprendre une formule, ou un cours. Je vous raconterai J
7/ Faire l’inventaire ECOLE soit :

Nous ferons les cours sur des feuilles que nous collerons ou mettrons en pochette en rentrant
8/ Acheter et prendre des cahiers de vacances, ça permet d’avoir des étapes ludiques dans l’apprentissage, et de mon côté ce sera un support en cas de panne sèche !
9/ Etablir une liste de musée, ou parc gratuit, je sais que NYC propose une fois par mois ou de temps en temps des entrées gratuites, je me suis rapprochée de mes copines New-Yorkaises pour en avoir une liste ………Ca va être GENIAL !!
10/ Inscription de toute la famille dans les bibliothèques de quartier. Et regarder leur programme
A 3 min à pied j’ai CENTRAL LIBRAIRY (10 grad Army Plaza) qui me propose :
• Le mercredi à 13h00 un groupe de conversation
• Le mercredi à 13h00 jeux vidéo pour enfants
• Le mercredi 16h00 Librairy Lab pour Sasha
• Le mardi 16h00 Légo
A 20 min à pied de chez moi j’ai SARATOGA LIBRAIRY (8 Thomas S Boyland street at Macon street) qui propose :
• Le vendredi à 16h00 vidéo game pour enfants
• Le lundi à 16h00 groupe de création art, pour les teenagers
A 30 min à pied j’ai BEDFORD LIBRARY (496 Franklin av) qui propose :
• Le mercredi à 15h30 des jeux pour enfants
• Le vendredi à 15h30 de vieux jeux vidéo pour enfants
• Le samedi à 14h00 des histoires
• Le mercredi à 14h00 des groupes de conversation

The School TO DO LIST
We are many people who wants to leave France for USA, it’s really great to can ask you ! Many of you have one question :
“How children teaching school ??”
Soooo that’s my School TO DO LIST Tadammmm
First I have 2 children, Cloé is 13 years old she is in 8th grade (middle school) and Sasha 8 years old is in 3rd grade.
1/ Call children’s school near the Brooklyn apartment for the register.
And it’s easy, you have a parent coordinator, and he gives you all information.
I don’t register my children in a Brooklyn’s school, because I saw an article, the visa administration can’t stop your visa request for enjoy public structure with your tourist visa (ESTA), and I think it’s normal, I’m a tourist I can’t have the same things as a American.
2/ So I call the CNED, I went in their web site and do my register. They call me rapidly to understand my request. If I register children in the CNED institute, I must unsubscribe them, and I don’t know if they can have their place when we come back ! And it has a cost : 450€ / children !
CNED explain me I can find a solution with the school directors, and teaching myself !
3/ Call school director for this solution,
For Sasha’s school is easier, the director is his teacher, and he was ok, he saw the process to be alright.
For Cloé’s director I must more explain , the situation for me and for Cloé, and I was ok too … ouf !
4/ Find the process, and for that, I have many friends are teacher, and school director, she really help me, so the process :
• Contact the Academy inspection
• Send a mail for your demand, and send another mail for the town hall
• You have the answer in one week, it’s quickly
• Give the accord copy to the directors
5/ Make a planning, and valid the planning with the school directors
I prepare a morning planning, children keep the same habit (wake up at 7 am), and teach 4 hours / day (3 hours for the Friday), it’s important this planning, because some day we can’t doing school, we must know what subject we work.

Cloé has difficulty with French and mathematical, so she learns this subject in the first morning.
Sasha has les hours, and his subject during only ¾ of hours maximal.
6/ Take PRO NOTE ‘s codes (middle class) and the application KARTABLE
PRO NOTE is the website with the comments of the Cloé’s teachers, they give the lesson and the exercises every day.
I don’t know the application KARTABLE, but my family tell me it’s a great application, some teacher help you on a subject or an exercise.
7/ Do the school inventory :

We doing school on the sheet of papers, and class them in the notebook or a blinder.
8/ Buy holiday book, it’s playful, and it gives me help when I don’t have ideas for lesson.
9/ make a museum and park free list, I know NYC gives some day museum and park free, I call my friend to have this list, it’s really GREAT !
10/ See and register the family in the library :

•Wednesday at 1PM a conversation group
•Wednesday at 1PM video games for children
•Wednesday at 4PM Library Lab for Sasha
•Tuesday at 4PM Lego
A 20 min walk I have SARATOGA LIBRAIRY (8 Thomas S Boyland street at Macon street) which gives me :
•Friday at 4PM video game for children
•Monday at 4PM a creative and art group for teenagers
A 30 min walk I have BEDFORD LIBRARY (496 Franklin av) which gives me :
•Wednesday at 3PM games for children
•Friday at 3PM OLD video games for children
•Saturday at 2PM story time
•Wednesday at 2PM a conversation group
I think I find all activity !!
